We have one simple goal at Dancers Corner; to create a caring, family-oriented atmosphere where we help our dancers fall in love with dance. We want to help each dancer learn, grow, and be their best! Our staff is skilled in identifying the specific needs of each individual dancer and we strive to give each dancer the tools they need to take dance as far as they dream to take it. Not only is our staff committed to helping our students become dancers, but also respectful, responsible, loving, and kind humans. At Dancers Corner, we know the importance of family and community and strive to develop real relationships with our students and their families. The encouragement and support amongst staff, students, and parents is what makes our studio a FAMILY!
Classes for ages 2 & up!!
Class placement is at the discretion of our studio staff. Each student is closely evaluated by the faculty and director. Once the dancers progress beyond the combo classes, students do not move up to the next level according to age or the amount of years that they have studied dance. Levels are designed to be repeated for multiple years. They must be able to execute proper technique of each movement for that level. It is extremely important that dancers are placed in a level that is appropriate for each of them, as frustration and even injury may occur by advancing before they are ready. Our staff is highly trained and educated to make the best possible placement for each dancer enrolled at our studio. We look forward to helping them learn and grow in, and through, dance!!
Mini Movers (Ages 1-3)
This class is the perfect introduction to movement and dance for your child who is not ready to separate but is ready to explore a nurturing learning environment. Caregivers (in comfortable clothing) and children participate together throughout the class. Our Mini Movers program is designed to aide developmental milestones by playfully supporting children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development through the magic of pretend play, music, song, and dance. Mini Movers is a non-recital program offered in an 6-week session. Movers must be walking.
Beginner Tap (Ages 2-3)
A thirty minute introductory dance class for toddlers that are ready to separate from their adults. Our instructors use imagination games, stories, upbeat age-appropriate music, and props like ribbons, hula hoops, tambourines, and maracas to teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, and basic steps. Students will also work on classroom skills such as following directions, listening, and working with others.
Tap/Ballet Combo (Ages 3-7)
In addition to building on the basic principles and fundamentals taught in Beginner Tap, our younger students are also introduced to basic ballet terminology while exploring movement and music in a fun, creative way. Tap/Ballet combo will continue to build on fundamentals each year.
Mini Acro Jazz (Ages 5+)
The focus of this class includes learning introductory acrobatic positions, locomotive skills (jumping, hopping, etc), balance skills, and strength which all go hand-in-hand with introductory level jazz skills. Our staff will combine the basic technique and fundamentals of each style of dance to create a fun and creative twist that is sure to keep your younger dancer engaged. Attentive listening skills are necessary for the safety and well-being of the students and our staff. Students may enroll in this class as an add-on to their tap/ballet combo class; enrollment based on teachers discretion.

Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street, and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Ages 5-6 may sign up for jazz in addition to tap/ballet combo at teachers discretion.
Lyrical (Ages 8+)
Lyrical combines elements of ballet and jazz to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. Lyrical is offered to dancers with several years experience in ballet and jazz.
Clogging (Ages 5+)
Clogging is a unique style of dance that mixes a variety of other folk dances such as tap and Irish step dancing to create a "melting pot" of step dances. It differs from tap in many ways; the most common being dancing in time with the music on the downbeat with the heel keeping the rhythm and more control of the upper body. To form well-rounded cloggers, our students learn the basic foundational style of traditional clogging and progress into more modern contemporary footwork and technique. This style of dance is fun and energetic for all ages.
Tap (Ages 7+)
Tap dancing is beneficial in many ways. Basics of tap include increasing cardiovascular conditioning, strength, and coordination. Tap builds strength in legs and feet in addition to increasing flexibility in the hips, knees, and ankles. Cognitive abilities are also enhanced. Tap dancers develop both mental and muscular memory. Tap also develops a great sense of rhythm and timing. Our tap instructors help students focus on music awareness while incorporating tap steps and combinations.
Ballet (Ages 7+)
Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. It provides grace, poise, and the technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Students will learn ballet techniques and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. The ballet curriculum is based on a combination of the French, Vagonova, and Cecchetti methods. We recommend taking ballet as it is a fundamental class to support all other dance styles.
Pointe (based on teachers discretion)
Beginning pointe class can be taken on flat or pointe shoes at the instructors discretion. All pointe classes are designed for students with extensive ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.
